What a night we had on Monday with the amazing Alpha Delta Brewery!

Eight magnificent brews curated for us by the remarkable, the redoubtable Ross Holland who made the 5-hour road trip down from Newcastle to guide us through each of his brews. Pulling no punches, the co-founder and current brewer gave a fascinating insight into the Alpha Delta brewing philosophy which could best be described as stretching (error… exploding!) the normal beer brewing boundaries with ever evolving recipes which continue to push the beers forward! And as Ross says… Get them whilst you can!

It was an extremely busy night as we were more or less at full capacity. So thanks to all who attended for your patience as the members of our bar staff who were not working but who were (very enthusiastically!!) attending the tasting took pity on the beardie old grey-haired fella behind the bar and helped him out with pouring/distributing the beers and most importantly with glass washing/recycling!

We will be inviting Ross back a bit later in the year so watch this space for confirmation of the date as it will be another brilliant night!

In the meantime, we have regular monthly Meet the Brewer tastings lined up starting in March with the (more than) Pretty Decent Brewery from E7, followed by our very good friends at Popes Yard from Apsley and later in the year…….yes!!… THE VERDANT BREWING COMPANY!

Before all that of course on Monday 28th February it’s the mouthwatering monthly Yahtzee Night!! If you have never played it Yahtzee is a classic dice game that uses five 6-sided dice. It’s easy to learn, quick to play, and accommodates any number of players.  

Gather at 7:30 pm for an 8 pm start. £1 entry, the winner gets the pot and a drink of our choosing with the chance to gamble it for something greater (or could walk away with nothing!). 2nd last wins a half of Sumo or Zealous…

As ever the more the merrier but please confirm attendance as spaces may be limited.
