We will be hosting a Meet the Brewer Evening brought to you by the one and only, the notorious Neckstamper Brewing!

According to many accounts, a “neck-stamper” was the slang term given to the pot-boy (or girl) at an ale-house or tavern in the 1600s. One of the neck-stamper’s jobs was to collect drinking vessels – bottles or tankards – that had been sent out full of beer to private homes or other establishments. Yes…takeaway beer in the 17th Century!

At the centre of Neckstamper Brewing is a brand new 10 barrel brewery in the heart of East London – in the lovely Lea Valley – not too far from the Olympic Park, host to the Olympic Games in 2012.

On the night we will be sampling 6 of Neckstampers noteworthy, nifty beers (watch this space for confirmation of the line up close to the date).)

Nosh and anecdotes to be provided. Tickets are on sale at £25 each but hurry as places are strictly limited. The usual times apply – gather for 7:30pm for an 8pm prompt start… what a way to spend an otherwise drab Wednesday!
